Overall Mandate

The Puntland Statistics Department is tasked with leading and coordinating the collection, compilation, processing, production, and dissemination of official statistics for the government of Puntland.

These efforts are aimed at supporting evidence-based policy and program planning, measuring progress, and adhering to principles of accountability, transparency, and efficient resource utilization.

The department acts as the custodian of official statistics of the state of Puntland.

Mission Statement:

To lead, coordinate, and supervise the collection, compilation, processing, interpretation, and dissemination of official statistics to inform and promote evidence-based policy formulation, program planning and   monitoring, and decision-making processes.

Producing comprehensive set of integrated statistics and providing high-quality of information for evidence-based in decision-making.
